I’m pleased to announce that, after years of waiting and hoping, the bizarro fiction collection of short stories, Not from Concentrate, is finally available on Audible.com!
This project has been a labor of love for me since I first decided to move down to Austin and record a collection of short stories that I felt were appropriately reflective of the times in which we live (and record them out of my studio apartment’s walk-in closet like the crazed recluse that I am!).
Joking aside, stories are important. Fantasy is great, but what about Realism? What about Realism and Fantasy and Satire? Can we combine these elements and package them in short stories – audio short stories available on mobile devices for people to listen to? These were the questions that drove me to produce this audiobook.
The collection has 12 short stories that are arranged with the shortest stories first. The final story, Goodbye, My Television, is more of a novella that comes in at around 90 minutes. Goodbye, My Television represents the culmination of various themes explored in the prior satires.
If you are a fan of audiobooks and enjoy weirdness, this collection may be right for you. If when I say Lovecraft, you say H.P. – you may have found the correct blog post. If you’ve been patiently waiting for something outside of the system to make you smile and think, Not from Concentrate, might find a welcome spot on your iPod or mobile device.
Other satires include:
I Want to Stand in My Cubicle
Girl Fistfights Boy
