This Water’s Not Hot

By
David Wallace Fleming

This water’s not hot
No hot water I got
Skin! not robot!
And no, I not a tot
But water, I likes it hot

Look here, on this plot
Where hot water went pot
Was it a valve not on spot?
A neighbor not yet caught?
A bounced bill I forgot?

No,
I never welched on a Watt!
Funny, this is not
The culprits, may their—may their
Coldcuts rot!
Their GPS grow distraught
Their Feng shui tied in knot
Their toddler’s times tables untaught
Their own showers clinkity, clankity
Clot!

So then, so then
I got what I got?
Because I curl in a cot?
And not break of day fought?
And all this nagging for naught?

Well, this water’s not hot
No hot water I got!

    Calm down, it’s summer
    Cold winter is Down Under
Pick the phone, call the plumber
    Count your blessings, you whiner

  2. Mason says:

It’s hot here not hot there. Too bad what you got. Not hot there.
