  2. Where’s the arrow for grammar, by the way? 😉

    • It’s hidden under the arrow for literacy. I originally wanted to have arrows for each major k-12 subject but opted to simplify instead.

      • I thought it might be… 😉 But really, my own hidden point is that I think that grammar is not emphasized in schools enough and that the whole standard of what it means to be “literate” is being lowered.

        I think I understand what you are saying. I’m working in a school right now and I know what you are talking about. To add to your point a little further, I’m of the school of thought that language patterns dictate thought patterns. So, I believe that limitations on syntax, vocabulary and structure (grammar) can actually be prisons of thought.
